Our Partner Sinéad Keogh recently presented a Finance Masterclass for Musicians at the Dublin city centre campus of BIMM, Europe’s largest third-level institute for education in music and the music industry.
The masterclass aimed to give people studying and working in the music industry the information and skills required to register for taxes, prepare Income and Expenditure accounts, and to file tax returns.
Sinéad has worked in the entertainment industry since 2009, as an accountant and tax advisor across the music, film, literary, theatre and arts sectors. She is a qualified Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Advisor. The tips Sinéad shared could make a huge difference to the tax those in the music industry pay.
The successful event was well received by those in attendance, which included BIMM students, lecturers and alumni. Sinéad was pleased by the welcome engagement during the masterclass and by plenty of interesting questions following her presentation.
The Finance Masterclass at BIMM follows a workshop Sinéad delivered Minding Creative Minds. That workshop was recorded on Zoom as a useful resource for Creatives. The recording appears along with slides and links as support resources in a recent News story on our site here.
We hope Sinéad’s expert advice and tips are of benefit to you, leaving you with more time to create sweet music.
